Day 3: Youth Week of Prayer

Hello everyone!

Tonight for our 3rd day of Youth Week of Prayer, we began with a lovely song service leading into scripture reading taken from Mark 1:35
"35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed."

Our special music was beautifully sang by Sis Emmanuela and our young Speaker tonight was preached by Sis Claudie Seide continuing our topic of "The Reformation that Changed the World". We had a nice prayer amoungst our young people, thanking God for all the blessings he had provided us and asking to continue to help us grow in righteousness. We encourage you to come by to Hackensack SDA Church to join us in our Youth Week of Prayer with your friends and family.

Claudie tells us ways to get through any struggles we might have through the word of God. (The scriptures below are not the exact scriptures she mentioned; however, there are many scriptures that can still help us with any struggles we may be going through. Here are a few we thought would be helpful, especially if you have a bible in hand-continuing reading from the verses given here, you will find a lot more answers and understand how to get through anything.

    Depression –
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength” (Ephesians 1:17-19).

    Bereavement or grief –
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
Suffering –“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire —may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:6-7).
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12).
Substance Abuse – “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Finances –“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6:19-20).
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
Fear –“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-30)
      Salvation –
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
