Happy Sabbath Everyone! And Happy Mother's Day! Today we began with out Sabbath School lesson entitled Mathew 24-25. Our Special music & Meditational selection will be beautifully sung by Sis Juanita Gooden; both performances will be LIVE on Instagram. HEALTH NUGGET: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here are facts: 1 in 5 adults in America experiences a mental illness. Nearly 1 - 25 (10 million) adults in America live with a serious mental illness. One-half of all chronic mental illness begins by the age of 14, three -quarters by the age of 24. About 24 million American adults live with schizophrenia, 6.1 million American adults live with bipolar disorder, 16 million American adults live with major depression and 42 million of American adults live with anxiety disorder. Approximately 10.2 million adults have co-occuring mental health an d addiction disorders, 26% of homeless adults staying in shelters living with a serious mental illness. African American and Hispanic Americans used mental health services at about 1/2 the rate of Causcasians in the past year and Asian American at about 1/3 the rate.
