Happy Sabbath Everyone! Today is Communion at Hackensack Seventh-day Adventist Church. We began this morning with an impactful presentation brought to us by Elder Jerrmain Clarke. Our meditational selection will be performed by Sis Jennifer Brown and will be Instagram LIVE. The sermon today is entitled "I Won't Back Down", spoken by Pastor Stefan Burton-Schnüll. Unfortunately, we will not be able to LIVE stream the sermon today. Our scripture reading will be taken from Matthew 24:12-14.

HEALTH NUGGET: Sleep-The Silent Healer

Sleep is important to many functions of the body. Sleep aids in strengthening the immune system, hormone balance, disease prevention, cell/tissue rejuvenation, prevention of aging, and decreasing risk of infections, wounds, illness (cancer, diabetes, heart disease). Individuals who get less than seven hours of sleep a night increase their risk of getting a cold by 3x. Individuals who are sleep deprived are more likely to develop plaque in heart arteries early in life (Journal of American Medical Association, 2008). Sleep aids in alterness and increasing functionality (20-30% of traffic fatalities are due to a fatigued driver)
