The Antidote
Goodmorning and Happy Sabbath Everyone! Today we began with our Sabbath School Lesson followed by Praise & Worship. We then began our Divine Hour opening with the Hymn number 184. Our Special music & meditational selection was performed by Sis. Jennifer Brown. The Scripture reading today was found in John 3:16-21 . Our Sermon today was spoken by Elder Albert Pathmore entitled, "The Antidote"
Sleep is important to many functions of the body. Sleep aids in strengthening the immune system, hormone balance, disease prevention, cell/tissue rejuvenation, prevention of aging, and decreasing risk of infections, wounds, illnesses (cancer, diabetes, heart disease). Individuals who get less than seven hours of sleep a night increase their risk of getting a cold by 3x. Individuals who are sleep deprived are more likely to develop plaque in heart arteries early in life (Journal of American Medical Association, 2008). Sleep aids in alertness and increasing functionality (20-30& of traffic fatalities are due to a fatigued driver)
Psalms 127:2 ~ It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He giveth His beloved sleep.
